Breastfeeding Postpartum Struggles: The Pain and Boundaries I Never Expected
Hey, Mama. Is breastfeeding supposed to hurt this much? When it comes to breastfeeding postpartum struggles, we often see images of glowing bonding and perfect connections. But what happens when your reality feels more like pain, exhaustion, and unsolicited advice?
I’m sharing my story to normalize this. If you are feeling tapped out, you are not alone. This emotional and physical rollercoaster is real.
The 100% Burden
We tried bottles until he was two months old, but his suck was so strong he would choke every single time. It was terrifying. Right then, we made the call: No more bottles. Suddenly, feeding became 100% my job. There was no “handing him off” for a break. I was mentally and physically tapped out. It wasn’t even that my supply was low I just never felt sure if he was getting enough. That uncertainty is a different kind of torture. I spiraled into a 3 AM Google hole of different things related to making sure my baby was getting enough. This is where Postpartum Panic really starts to take root.
Boundaries: The Secret to Survival
Then came the outside noise. “You have to keep trying different bottles!” I know people meant well, but it felt like pressure. It felt selfish. I told my man, “The next person who gives me unsolicited advice about bottles is getting it.” And he knew I was serious. He became my rock, shutting down the noise so I could focus on my own doing what we wanted to do.
Breastfeeding isn’t just a physical act; it’s an emotional boundary. My truth? It didn’t come with magic it came with sacrifice, exhaustion, and a whole lot of strength.
Your Survival Toolkit
If you’re in that dark, numb place, there is a way out. You don’t have to navigate the “liquid gold” pressure alone.

Needed to post you a tiny observation to be able to say thank you as before on the unique basics you have featured in this case. It is certainly strangely generous of people like you to provide publicly precisely what a lot of folks would have distributed for an ebook to help make some money on their own, precisely now that you could have tried it in case you considered necessary. These inspiring ideas additionally acted to provide a easy way to realize that most people have the same dreams similar to my very own to know the truth a little more on the topic of this condition. I am sure there are a lot more pleasurable opportunities in the future for people who look into your blog.
Great blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any recommendations? Kudos!
I did a-lot of research as well. I opted for the paid version because eventually I would like to monetize my blog, on a free version you cannot do that. So, it really depends on your overall goal.
Free version: has basic themes, subdomain, and ads placed by the provider. A paid version you can customize everything to your liking, you have full design control, no ads (unless you want to monetize and that depends on a few things), you also get SEO tools, analytics to see how your blog is doing etc.
You can ALWAYS start free and test your niche and writing habits before moving to a paid version. I use Bluehost as a paid version. Very easy to use.
